As a core architect at BPL and Hughes, Dr. Samartha laid the groundwork for wireline and wireless telecom protocol frameworks, setting the stage for India’s telecom revolution.

Taking charge as the Business Head for Nortel’s India division, he successfully bridged global technology strategies with local implementation.
Establishing Kyocera India
As the founder and managing director of Kyocera India in 2003, he pioneered the first indigenous phone and base station designed and developed entirely in India—a milestone in the nation’s product innovation journey.
Scaling Global Impact
Under his leadership, Kyocera Wireless India grew to develop over 240 phone models and seven technology-driven base stations, serving 17 countries. In 2009, he orchestrated the successful sale of Kyocera Wireless
